Yardsale Vinyl

From the kerb to you

About the show

Yard Sale Vinyl is presented by two of radio’s most loved minor celebrities- Max Pedelo and Magnus Glocken and is broadcast from a small cabin in northern Ontario. The type of music you can expect to hear on this show defies any conventional radio play list, dropping Hawaiian coconut party tunes next to Bollywood Vampire movie soundtracks, Nordic Barber Shop Quartets and little know ditties from one album wonders of the 1980’s country and western scene.

With stories on how the vinyl was procured and little known secrets about the artists themselves, plus many revealing philosophies from Magnus and Max, this show charts new waters in the bayou of digital radio.

Yardsale Vinyl, Episode three

Welcome back to another episode of madness, mayhem and architecturally gifted rabid squirrels. Our intrepid presenters, Max and Magnus are receiving fan mail, are playing musical requests and delving into the deeper recesses of Yul Brynner’s one and only musical offering.

The highlight of today’s show is without doubt a communist disco performance.

An old friend visits The Cabin

Max and Magnus welcomed an old friend to the cabin this week who was in need of some hidden seclusion. Ludwig Speil arrived in the middle of the night, via Harry’s seaplane fresh from recording a solo album in Belarus. Fortunately there was enough canned fish and gerkins in the cabin and  Ludwig had brought a case of plum brandy. Come morning he was gone and it seemed like a strange dream. Unfortunately the Telly Savalas album is missing.

Max, Ludwig and Magnus back stage with Austrian pop sensation - Über Kinda.

A rare picture of Max Pedelo

This undated publicity picture of Max Pedelo is currently making the rounds on the internet. Fans everywhere are asking for signed prints. Max explains: “The cabin is only serviced twice a month by float plane. We’ll try and get Harry, the pilot, to deliver a number of photos but he’s usually too drunk to remember.”

Yardsale Vinyl, Episode Two

Max and Magnus are at it again, playing the weird, the wonderful and the unusual from a stack of records purchased at yard sales.

While Magnus has been painting his toes and perusing new vinyl acquisition from North Korea, Max has been keeping up to date with housework and securing the cabin following a threatening telegram they received from their producer.

On this week’s show listeners can expect mambo boy greatness, tango mania and some London pub sing along favorites. Plus some awesome movie soundtrack covers and a cheeky little jingle from one of Hong Kong’s favorite singers of love.

Episode One

So we sat down last night and recorded the first ever episode of Yardsale Vinyl. It’s rough, it’s unpolished, it’s much in need of improvement. But so is the music we played, so that’s all good. Enjoy.
